Thanksgiving is coming soon

It's Thanksgiving time in America and I am getting ready. I have my Butterball turkey, my fully cooked ham and my list of other goodies to make. I want to make this year a special year for the big dinner. I would love to invite someone or people who can't cook or who don't have family to share with. I will be thinking of such a person or persons.

I do have one already, our friend from Washington. He's in right now and staying through the holidays so that will be nice but I would like to find an elderly person or persons who have no extended family or family who can't come see them. Of course I will invite all my children. Usually all of them cook or have other family they go to like my parents and their in-laws but Momma's kitchen is open to them always without being said.

I talked to a lady the other day in the supermarket who gave me a most wonderful, simple recipe for Pumpkin pie.
She said to buy one of the big can's of pumpkin and two regular graham cracker pie crust. Cream cheese and a little cool-whip. She said to take the cream cheese (she didn't specify how much) and add a bit of powered sugar to it and a bit of cool-whip. I loved how she said bit's and some. lol Mix it together and lay a layer on the pie crust. Pour in some pumpkin pie then another layer of it then the rest of the pie. I'm pretty sure she said this and if not, just add the cream cheese mixture and then the pumpkin. It sound so easy. I will try it.

  1. Hi my friend...I am hoping your Thanksgiving is going to be as JOYOUS as we pray that ours is going to be. EVERYONE is coming from OUT OF TOWN.
ALL the grandkids will be home, and one grand-son inlaw too. We are excited.
We are counting the days...only 4 now.
I am going to be making portraits of them.. (if they cooperate )..and will be posting them on Gypsy and Friends.

    Love to you and yours.
    GOBBLE UNTIL YOU WOBBLE !!!!
