Cost of Living Checks

A raise at the beginning of each new year was a much needed boost for Social Security recipients. The cost of living has NEVER been so ridiculous and it's especially hurting people who depend on Social Security as their sole income. Forget the $250.00 once a year and put a raise back in the checks every month to help with this "Bush Induced Recession". You greedy politicians who want to keep your rich pockets rich do NOT care to step all over these people and I am telling all of America to speak out and get back what has been taken from us. We are American's! How would any of us feel if we had to depend on this government? Do not for a minute think that we may not have to one day.
We were born and raised in America! Treat your own, don't cheat your own! Keep us loving America! Elderly Americans, Disabled Americans, Veterans and the like are all people too- who make up so much of America and at one time were young, capable people who kept the world going by working, fighting for our freedom and supporting our land and now you want to slap them with a little check with no raises and tell them to take it? Not I! Just give a raise at the beginning of the year. It's a gradual increase that way and won't hurt the budget all at once.

Curves with Robin Log 1

I started Curves a few months ago and now it's December the 3rd of 2010. I just did my 24th day yesterday and plan to go later today too. I had slacked some due to toothache, had them pulled. Then sick with a cold, got over that, other minor things and now I'm trying to give myself 30 minutes a day. I started back Wednesday which would have been the 1st., went yesterday on the second also and going today on the 3rd. So I'm gonna hit it hard in December. From the 1st to the 24th and see how well I look and feel by then. I ate too much at Thanksgiving and suppose to be watching Cholesterol, Diabetes and weight. Lose weight, lose all the other bad things. Gotta watch sugar intake and fat/grease/butter/mayo and all the good stuff. Baked, steamed, broiled, boiled, fresh are all better for us than fried foods. Getting use to Truvia sweetener opposed to real sugar from the sugar cane.  Truvia is a real sugar also but from a different source called Rebiana from the Stevia leaf. So it's natural. Best and safest I've had so far. Off to dream land. Hope to go far and see much! Night.

Spider Alert

ATTENTION: I woke up Sunday morning got up out of bed and became extremely dizzy with a slight tummy upset. My eyes were blurred also. I laid back down awhile and wondered if I had been spider bitten. Next day, same symptoms but not as severe but did notice a rash come upon my neck! Burned like fire!

Went to hospital, said it could have been a spider bite, not sure, I had a spider I found on my bed and they thought it could have been a brown recluse which came in due to cooler weather. They gave me a shot and antibiotics and feeling so much better today. If it was a spider bite, I caught it early before anything bad sit in. If you have any of these symptoms please go to the doctor or hospital right away. It could save you or at least a lot of pain.

Below is a picture of a Brown Recluse. Remember they come in different colors and should research all the different colors. Some have the violin or fiddle on the back and some do not. The spider which I found was a baby and looked identical to the spider in the picture but much smaller.
Shake out all your clothes and your children's clothes before they put them on. Spiders like to hide in dark corners or up inside of clothing and will bite when threatened. Remember, even Kings palaces have spiders! They're everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

Bryson Scott Tinnel Gibson & Amillya Michelle Robin Smith

Little Brice is doing fine. He's 2 months and a week old. He is so cute. He has an olive complexion like me and his momma. He takes turns looking like his daddy and momma and soon he will develop his own beautiful look. He likes to grunt while drinking milk or sleeping. It's so adorable. He loves his little cousin Amillya! She is just as precious and so beautiful. She is ten months old today! She's getting her first tooth on the bottom. She's had a little cold lately and ear infections. It's been sad for her but she's taking medicine and smiling again as usual. She's a happy baby just like Brice. I love those little munchkins.

Top picture is Twitter (Tristany) with her baby Bryson in his pumpkin outfit on Halloween. Below that one is Amillya with Aunt Goo (Bethany) with their Halloween costumes on. Amillya's an angel.

Twitter had her baby

Twitter had a 7lb.13.3oz. baby boy and named his Bryson Scott Gibson. I'm calling him Brice. He is adorable and has a very old spirit. At birth, he opened his eyes to take in the world and was turning his head around with the strength of a 6 month old. He is special, I can feel it. I am his Anna Rob. We all love him dearly and are blessed to have him in the world. I am doubly blessed that Twitter is alright and doing well. Patrick the daddy is protective of both Twitter and the baby. He loves them deeply and it warms the heart to see him around them. Here is a picture of them enjoying their new addition.

He's showing Twitter (momma) her son for the first time after her surgery. It's a beautiful moment.

Little Bryson Scott Gibson only moments old. Eyes wide open and giving the nurses five minutes to let him see his momma! LOL

Just Another Day

It's June 11th 2010. Humid and sticky which is probably one and the same. Josh my stepson is staying with us a little while. He's a well mannered young man. Buried a cat yesterday. It was sad. It looked like Lady Zachery. She was beautiful. I hadn't saw her in a long time and then suddenly she was dead at the door of under the house. It looked like her, it could have been one of the other fuzzy cats. I don't know all of them yet because they are so wild. Dee's birthday party was yesterday. I didn't go. I will give him a card and something later even though his birthday was the 29th of May.
Dozer is biting his hair off his side. Zak calls it a hotspot. He put old motor oil on it but it wore off in no time. So have to do it again.
I miss 4-wheeling but we can't go until Josh stays all night with someone. His dad won't leave him here alone right now due to other people. I know Zak is getting restless though. Well another day in the life of me. Later.

It's Mushroom Time

Yes, it's mushroom time in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. I'm sure it's that time for many other states as well. Mushrooms are a unique fungus which grows in mid April most of the time and usually on the North/Northeast side of the banks in the woods and sometimes flat, marshy places. I've found them under an apple tree orchard in a family yard as well as under big oak trees in the deepest and darkest of the woods. I've also found them in hollows on the side of the road where the leaves are dead and moist gathered in the ditch line.
Mushrooms pop up where ever they find the conditions most pleasing to them. I have found white/light gray mushrooms to a darker brownish/darker gray mushroom. Usually the lighter ones come first and the darker ones later but this can happen in the opposite manner.

There are a few nicknames for Mushrooms that we find and eat in April. One is Monkey Doddles. I find that one a bit sexist. lol The other name is Hickory chickens. Many people used to find them under Hickory trees in the woods so the name Hickory stuck but I have no idea where the chicken part came from unless they think they taste like chicken but I beg to differ. Mushroom have a taste like no other in the world.

I can't explain exactly the way they taste but I will say that I soak my mushrooms in water with a little salt in order to pull out any bugs or contaminants. After soaking awhile, I rinse them over and over in cold water. I pat dry or let them dry on their own and then mix flour and a bit of cornmeal together with salt and pepper and fry in a hot skillet with canola oil and a bit of butter for taste. Sometimes I lay them out after cutting them lengthwise in the skillet to fry or other times I simply mix them all together like scrambling eggs. I prefer that taste to the individual taste.

The mushrooms just need to cook a few minutes. They become soft and the batter turns brown.
I do have to say that I have been hunting, finding and eating mushrooms since I was a little girl so I have a taste for them. People who haven't ever eaten them may not like them at first or they may love them too much but remember they are only out once a year and after a mess or two of them, that's usually enough until the next year.

So eat and enjoy and remember when you find them, break them off at ground level. Don't pull them up or they may not pop back up the next year. That could be an old wives tale but I live by it.
Oh yea and remember to not get them all and to email me and tell me where you found them! That's a must! LOL They're scarce!

What I'm about this week of April the 1st 2010

Where am I right now? I'm finished with my book Autumn Bay and started on another one or two.
I'm praying for my family and friends and everyone I know and don't know every day. I'm taking care of my animals and my husband the best I can. I am missing my dear cousin Terrie who left this realm in January of this year 2010. I'm missing many people. I'm trying hard to get back into shape like I once was. NO...even better. I'm joining an exercise program and I hope it works. It has too. I have to help I know by eating better foods and less of it. I need to keep busy and exercise a bit more often at home. I still want my own home and land for my husband and myself with our little animals. I don't know if we will ever get it but it's pretty nice hoping for it. I'm not always nice to the world but I do love the people who are in it...their soul that is. I wish us all happiness, good health, safety and peace and most of all faith and love. ~Robin Michelle Zachery

Her little pets and all her extended family and her friends. She will be missed on earth but to find her in spirit, just look in your heart.
